USCG Chief Petty Officer Jared Michael Reaves, of North Ogden, UT passed away on July 5, 2019, at the University of Chicago Medical Center of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Jared graduated from Weber High School in 2006, and went on to attend Texas A&M in Galveston, TX. He joined the United States Coast Guard and served proudly until his death. He was known for being a valiant member of his team, always willing to help anyone. He is greatly missed by his family, friends and shipmates. He has left an indelible mark on many of us who may have never even met him.
Follow the Flag North Ogden was honored to be a part of the Celebration of Life Ceremony for Jared. The US Coast Guard conveyed full military honors on Jared at the ceremony including 21 gun salute, taps and presentation of the flag to the family. Through the display of our flags and the service we were honored to provide throughout this difficult day, it touched our hearts deeply to be involved with welcoming Jared and his family home.
Like many people we are privileged to serve, we soon find ourselves serving shoulder to shoulder next to them on the next mission. Jared’s family, shipmates and friends have become dear friends and valuable members of our Follow the Flag family.
