Feb 28, 2020- Follow the Flag and Utah’s Patriot Guard Riders were honored to stand flags and pay respects to a local Veteran Wayne Tony Taylor. Wayne is a family member of several of our Follow the Flag Volunteers and we count his wife Lona as one of our own.
Wayne was presented with full military honors today. We were all touched today as we stood and listened to TAPS being played in honor of Wayne as we watched the honor guard fold and present the American Flag to Lona. The beautiful scenic backdrop of snow-covered Ben Lomond stood sentinel over the services. We are grateful for the opportunity to say thank you and express our appreciation for a Veteran that served his country with valor.
He was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam in the Infantry and was awarded the Purple Heart three times.
He will be remembered most for his helpfulness and sarcastic humor. God’s Speed Wayne. We love you Lona.
